I was talking to a college roommate about this yesterday, though in his case it wasn’t so much a political change — he’s always been libertarianish — so much as the costs of coming out now.

If someone agree with my political views, I am going have change my political views.
The only other option is to not say anything.
Not saying anything is pretty wise course of action- or so they have been saying since the beginning of time.
This same paradigm is happening with the whole COVID debacle. In particular, holding a conviction that the mrna vaccine is both dangerous and ineffective can cost you your livelihood.
