Why do you suppose that the Dominican Republic seems to do a lot better than the Haitians on the other half of the same island?
I’m sure that the higher per-capita GDP helps, but it could also be bad geographical luck in terms of the location of the fault that’s causing them.
Probably a lot more to do with policy. Haiti is Napoleonic Code, the Dominican is not.
They have so much potential but such terrible leaders. Could be us in a few decades.
