Every time I see something like this, I say to myself: “or not” and move on.
The chance that the study is true: 30%.
The chance it has been accurately interpreted and reported in the media: 0.05%.
The chance that there is anything I can do about it, even if true: 0%.
Everything connected with this will be grist in the academic mill for decades, it’s way to soon to be paying attention to every half baked notion that can get printed.
On an unrelated note, researchers seem to have cured spinal cord damage in mice with an injection of interleukin-6. It’s the first time fully paralyzed mice have walked again, which they did in only a few weeks.
