…is now a Third World country.
Yes, it’s insane. We’ve weathered the weather pretty well. Sunday was miserable hot even at the beach; it hit the mid nineties in the middle of the afternoon, and it was too hot to work in the yard. Fortunately, sea breeze started to cool things down, and the temperature had dropped considerably by early evening. We haven’t had any problem sleeping. I’m hoping that the worst is over, but September is the worst month here. I vastly prefer winter in southern California.
It is rather stunning to read all the comments on Twitter that blame capitalism for this.
Pathetic!
The population of California doubled in about 30 years. In that same time, total base load electric generation was reduced. You chose, poorly.
Mid 90’s? What were your dewpoint temperatures?
Having had those temps with mid 70’s dewpoint temperatures last July here in ‘Sconsin, I am not impressed, but I guess coastal California is supposed to be a much more desirable place to live based on what you paid for your house?
I don’t know what the dewpoint was, but the humidity was pretty high.
It’s very rare for the temperature to get into the 90s here, but this is the time of year that it happens. This weekend will be more seasonal, mid-70s and lower humidity.
I have been nagging people for 30 years about the importance of the dewpoint as a measure of comfort/discomfort, and what do you know, weather reports and forecasts these days are talking about dewpoint temps.
40’s Brisk!
50’s Beautiful weather
60’s Getting rather warm
70’s Armpit weather
80’s Bahrain
I remember rolling blackouts from the electricity crisis of 2000-2001. Good to know that they’re making ample progress on the matter.
