Everyone in journalism school should have to watch the movie “Network” as required viewing. Why is this news?
When I first saw this movie in college I took comfort in the fact that it was a work of fiction. I’d been far more upset knowing it was a work of prediction.
The media is bad enough, but looking at the left side of society, it seems “Idiocracy” is becoming a prophesy and they see “1984” as a how-to manual.
In the movie, the avowed black Communist Party leader is dammed if she is giving up one cent of her residuals deep inside page 135 of her network contract. One of the best parts of that movie.
Piece of trivia, also in that scene in the talking part for Cathy Cronkite. Yes, THAT Cronkite.

There is an unserved market that wants actual news. Also, we are all humans with biases, it would be nice if journalists were honest. Twitter has been the great revealer of journalist’s biases.
