Conrad Black is very confident about November. I share most of his confidence about Trump being re-elected.
However I’m concerned about the House and Senate. Capturing the House and keeping the Senate is really important if Trump’s next 4 years are to be maximally productive. We have to shutdown these endless unjustifiable investigations.
But I’m not sure we’ll capture Congress
Trump had both for the first two years. They accomplished nothing. Why do you believe it will be different this time? Bush had six years and we go two unwinnable wars and Medicare part D. We aren’t electing the wrong party, we’re electing the wrong people.
Trump did not have both. If you don’t have sixty votes in the Senate, you don’t control it.
True that. Cloture is a relic of a time when both sides actually appeared concerned with the good of the country. It’s probably time for winner take all, for better or worse.

I’m hoping (there are no guarantees) that we won’t have someone like spaghetti-spine Paul Ryan in charge; that Trump has shown you can stand up to the lefties, and so we now hear new guys like Jordan and Crenshaw.
And I think that with a GOP House and Senate you won’t have multiple impeachment attempts nor Russia probes….even if you did have a Paul Ryan in charge.
That would be a Yuge difference.
Oh, you’ll have attempts, but they will have no success.
Trump has proven he only needs the Senate to make fundamental changes to the world. Another four years, and it will be impossible to roll back the ‘new normal’ with China, for example.
And, as mentioned, having the House didn’t make any difference when it was full of RINOs.
