I follow her on Twitter, for her occasional bitching about colonialism in space, but this is beyond the pale. It is incitement to destruction.

Engineering ethics is a “thing.” Since have specialist knowledge, we have a duty and obligation to protect persons and property.
A gehn-you-eye-n Near-Eastern obelisk might set on its base that it can be readily toppled. A fake Ancient Cultures Revival obelisk my be pinned down, for all I know. Kind of the like the US Capitol Dome isn’t really a self-supporting arch-type dome in the classical style — it has a steel structure support. I bet the Washington Memorial is not a true obelisk either but a modern reinforced tall building.
I am telling people if they follow the professor’s advice, they might just break off a piece and put someone’s eye out.
I replied to her tweet with “I assume you gave similar advice to Egyptian looters and rioters during the Arab Spring?”
Did she block you?
I don’t think so, at least not yet. She might be busy, though.
“Destroy your cultural heritage and tear down monuments in the name of ______!” is not a good look for an Egyptologist.
“Back off, man. I’m an Egyptologist!”
It is very disappointing. She should know better.
I’m sure when she finds out about the history of the Democrat party that she will demand that it is disbanded and its riches distributed to its victims.
“for her occasional bitching about colonialism in space”
Probably self loathing.
Part of it, probably, is related to her failing grasp any understanding of history.
Who? And who cares?
Ya know, the pyramids, Sphinx, and all those ancient obelisks were literally built by slaves, many of whom died during construction both at the hands of their masters and due to poor working conditions.
Should those all be destroyed?
And the sponsors/creators of those monuments bragged about it too.
Battle speed, hortatory.
Battle! Speed!

They also had an industry that raised and killed cats so that they could be mummified and placed in tombs.
Fewer people have been killed in the George Floyd riots than in a random bus crash yet people from every side are talking as though it were the Red October. If nothing else this illustrates how electronic media has made society vulnerable to information operations.
Deaths of George Floyd riots and deaths of China virus, aren’t the big factors involved. Making hospitals unavailable for general public was problem of China virus. And making cities unavailable for general public is main issue of George Floyd riots.
If don’t understand this, you don’t see how the News Media are vampires, with their religion of, “if it bleeds it leads”.
Riots are car accidents which the media mindless pays attention to, because the public mindless pays attention to that kind of thing.
Similar to police chases of crazy drivers- just, a lot more of it.
If Trump has lost a Garfield-themed restaurant in Toronto, he’s lost Middle America.

About the only thing middle US cares about Toronto is the HGTV Property Brothers, but then they moved to the US.
I don’t think you understand the significance of what is going on, certainly not the impact it is having on people’s lives.
