There’s so much wrong with the premise, starting with “He believes a simple “coding error” could turn AI girlfriends against their owners if they are equipped with free will.” and “One line of bad code, as simple as that, one line of bad code.”
A wonderful article by someone who knows nothing about AI, the meaning of “free will,” or, indeed, the meaning of the word “coding.” I guess when Mr. Coffee is given free will, he’ll pet your dog, sleep with your wife, and poison you. Provided Mr. Clean hasn’t got there first…
Who would have thought that a robot that could give a man continuous orgasms, even after he passes out from overdose of pleasure, might have been rushed into production without adequate testing of all possible fault modes in the software. I, for one, am shocked this would get by quality control. Who makes these, by the way?
