Yes. It’s been known for a few years that statins are great at reducing cholesterol levels but have no significant impact on the supposed harmful effects of cholesterol. Thereby pretty much proving that the whole cholesterol thing was complete nonsense.
Most of medicine has really progressed little beyond the leeches and blood-letting stage.
Spock spoke so disparagingly of McCoy’s “beads and rattles,” but apparently he wasn’t far off.

Statins have other uses besides cholesterol reduction. They are also very effective at reducing muscle mass and tone, reducing glycemic control in people such as diabetics and prediabetics (in some cases converting the latter to the former) and for some people, reducing mental function.
