I see that the media and the Left (but I repeat myself) wasted no time in blaming Trump for it, because his name appeared in the manifesto. But we also see the left eating its own, with the attack on Chelsea Clinton. But maybe they have a point.

Radicalization and degeneration:
It seems clear to me that it in no way requires one to endorse Tarrant’s vile crimes to recognize that like splitting the atom, the unwinding of Western civilization is going to release some extreme energies. It already is.
Yes. And more thoughts, from Richard Fernandez, on the tribal score settling that has infected the West.

From the last link:
The old devils are on the loose and the problem is what to do now. One option is to deliver even higher doses of political correctness and demographic replacement. But perhaps the absolute worst thing politicians can do is respond by collecting guns, imposing hate speech restrictions, and announcing open borders. In the current atmosphere of distrust toward authority, such actions can destroy the only asset a state faced with ethnic conflict has: the public belief that it is above the fray and won’t sell anyone out. That quantity can itself run out and therein lies the danger.
And that was the gunman’s stated goal in his manifesto: To drain the public of trust in its own government, and set off a civil war.
The people that commit these horrific acts do so from a belief that people can be collectivized by identity. Such a perspective is not limited to the right or left, whether they’re collectivizing Muslims or Christians, male or female, black or white, it’s all the same. If there’s an easy label to put to these haters I’d suggest “fascists” (which is how the murderer describes himself). Fascists built their base on creating division, emphasizing the differences between people to rabble rouse, and from there go on to promote actions to deal with those they build hate against. Hitler did it, the SJW’s on the extreme left do it, and plenty of people on the “alt-right” and sometimes not so alt-right do it.
As you say, the murderers intent was to create further division, he failed – though government knee-jerk reaction achieving his goal is still a risk
A self-described fascist who admires Mao…
Leftists with guns. A deadly combination.
I thought you knew that there’s little difference between fascist totalitarianism and communist totalitarianism.
Speaking of communist fascist totalitarianism; what’s the deal with New Zealand banning Dissenter.com? How did that website, or ZeroHedge for that matter, play into the shooting? Or is shutting down social media just something that is often done, like in China or Venezuela?
From what I can gather it’s ISP’s (not government) that have chosen to block Dissenter and some others, the gunmans video has been ruled objectionable so I assume these outfits were carrying it.
Apparently I’m breaking the law just having a copy on my computer, I guess it’s seen by the police much like objectionable porn.
