But yes, housing is too expensive in major centers. Young folks certainly cannot afford to live in those places.
In the San Francisco area I think one of the major causes of the inflated housing prices is, much like the article says, zoning restrictions and the difficulty in building more dense housing.
By contrast, the biggest winner is Houston, a metro area that many planners and urban theorists regard with contempt.
Oh geez, the contempt is so true. I can’t leave the area these days without some busy body telling me the problem with Houston is a lack of zoning. And the comment will come up with just the mention of the name of the town.
I just wish more people would heed the warning and stay out of Houston and Texas.
