Republicans have the problem that 95% of the news media, entertainment, and technocrats use all of their tools legal/illegal ethical/unethical against them.
Obama was also successful in taking over the financial industry where it matters, blocking people and groups Democrats don’t like from financial services. He was also successful in unilaterally changing illegal immigration policies in ways that Trump can’t roll back. Those are examples of Obama being a bad President but a successful one.
It is mind boggling how Democrats are trying to credit Obama for the oil boom.
You’re right that someone like Trump couldn’t have won the election before Twitter, because it allowed him to make an end run around the Democrat media. The left’s Internet hate-machine literally made his election possible.
But that doesn’t change the fact that Republicans have run lousy candidates for years. One of the few things I can think of worse than Obama winning in 2008 was McCain winning. And the best thing I can say about Baby Bush was that he kept Algore out of the White House.
If “liberals” have a grudge against Red Diaper Barry, it’s that he wasted two terms in office by not turning the US into Venezuela del Norte.
