It’s not just the 49th Apollo anniversary; it’s also the anniversary of the failed attempt to assassinate Hitler. Plus, it’s the 25th anniversary of the (likely) murder of Vince Foster.

There was some pretty good discussion and reminiscences in the comments at Ace of Spades last night.

And my parents’ anniversary (1951)
So how was the foofaraw? Was Walt on the prowl?
He was there, but they must have rearranged tables, because he wasn’t at mine. In the panel discussion, however, he did discuss the need to be more accepting of risk.
As much as I hate to defend the Clintons, I am afraid that the most likely explanation of the Vince Foster thing is that this desperately unhappy man (he likely did have an affair with HRC, and it ended badly when she became FLOTUS, much to his dismay) killed himself, his body was found in the office complex, and was quietly disposed of (rolled up in a carpet, carried to Fort Marcy Park, and dumped there) by trusted Clinton aides. Yes, the Clintons knew about it, yes they lied about it (it is what they do), but they likely had little to direct do with the actual mechanics of what happened.
Really, I wish I could find some logical reason to believe that HRC did murder the man, but sadly, this is one crime (just one) that she probably had very little to do with.
He was their lawyer. He had a lot of dirt on them, and seemed to be developing a conscience.
