There is a new petition on line to kill SLS/Orion and LOPG.

I wonder what the stats are for the number of petitions on change.org and number of petitions implemented? It is a great data harvesting idea though.
I can’t agree with killing Gateway. I’d rather kill ISS.
I don’t think Gateway is an obstacle to a lunar base, I think Gateway is an accelerant.
Nothing that is waiting for SLS/Orion can be “an accelerant.”
Be careful what you wish for. LOP-G can still happen without SLS.
In theory, but if it does, it will be much more cost effective, and it might even be useful.
Exactly.
Nothing about Gateway requires SLS. Now if it takes cancellation of Gateway to kill SLS, I’m fine with that.
I was repelled at first by the expensive and dangerous NASA Mars architecture which cobbled together SLS+Orion+Gateway+Deep-Space-Transport. But after taking a closer look at the whole Gateway concept (Near Rectilinear Halo Orbit) I realized its cost-effective potential for enhancing lunar operations of all sorts, including commercial flights and a lunar base.
With Gateway, it’s like NASA has found an even better example of the some of the early CEV concepts which used Lagrange Point Rendezvous (before Griffin stepped in with his ugly Constellation decision).
