Yes, it is amazing that Hillary got a pass for this foreign-policy and humanitarian disaster. And that’s not even counting the lies and criminal incompetence of Benghazi:
Libya is in a class of its own. In Syria and Yemen, at least, the situation was already bad. Libya, before Clinton got involved, was comparatively stable and no strategic threat to the United States or its allies. Now it’s a shambles, with people literally being sold in slave markets.
Back in the 2012 presidential campaign, former vice president Joe Biden told a group of African Americans that the GOP was going to ”put you all back in chains.” But it turned out that it was Clinton’s policies that led to black people being sold. As some ponder another Hillary Clinton run in 2020, that’s worth pointing out.
Yup.
Libya was horrible on so many levels. There was sex slavery of minority women before the industrial slavery recently written about. The failure to deal with mass migration has caused global problems. Libya is also what led to the rise of ISIS in Syria as jihadists returned from Libya flush with money, weapons, and soldiers.
That our media never pointed any of this out is another reason why they really are the opposition. Had any Republican been responsible for this, the media wouldn’t stop talking about it for decades. And it wasn’t just Hillary, Obama was the one that went to war without going to congress and supported Islamists in places like Egypt. It also wasn’t just the Obama administration as the Democrat party advocated for many of the policies enacted in the Middle East.
We have to come back to the media too. Obama said that the events in the ME were only a problem because people knew about them. If there were no media covering trees falling in the forest, no trees would have fallen. The media was like, “OK, let’s try that.”
Remember the outrage over the soldier who died in Niger? People were all, “What are we even doing there?” Anyone who went out of there way to follow current events knew but anyone who relied on the DNC media didn’t because they didn’t want you to know. Which brings us back to Libya. The Niger story dropped off the airwaves because digging too deeply would reveal just how large in scale a failure Libya was, so it was time to get those cameras out of the forest.
