In one case we have a politician shot by a deranged nutcase for no discernible political reason, and in the other we have an attempted assassination of dozens of congressmen for a clearly articulated one. And yet observe the coverage.
Not to mention, of course, the completely baseless smearing of Sarah Palin at the time.
They brag about their bias. If there is no downside for them, why would they stop?
What happens when one side fights a civil war and the other does not?
It’s time for unfair, unbalanced, fact based news.
In one case we have a politician shot by a deranged nutcase
A nutcase not acting out of politics but a nutcase who was from the left. I watched the kid’s videos and read his comments on various websites. He was an OWS Zeitgeist type of Democrat.
Even though he was clearly mentally ill and not acting out of affinity for one party or the other, it is important to make the link to his political leanings because there are still those who say he was from the right.
This could be a whole series, A Tale of Two X.
From the wars in Syria and Afghanistan to obstruction of justice, the media championed Obama for things they castigate Trump for.
Years ago I did a (very) occasional thing I called “The Tale of the Tape.” In comparing George Washington and Bill Clinton, for example, I tagged GW as “father of his country” and Bill as “half-brother of his country.”
I guess ya hadda be there.
Let’s not forget that, while it’s very true that Palin was baselessly smeared and blamed *at the time* of the Giffords shooting, it’s by no means limited to the past. The NYT, for one, smeared her again for it after the Alexandria shooting.
So did Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday. He brought it up as an example of violence from the right. When told that he was wrong, he responded, “Are you saying just one side is to blame?” (Or something like that)
One side is to blame for organized political violence. There are a few examples of from the right, like a couple abortion doctors being killed, but the overwhelming majority of politically violent acts come from the left and are regular occurrences. This is especially true when it comes to organized violence, which the murder of Dr Tiller and the recent mass assassination attempt were not.
And now Palin is suing the NY Times.
