A Never Trumper

Why he’s voting for Trump:

I am not of the mindset that any vote not for Trump is a vote for Hillary, but a vote for Trump is a vote against Hillary. And I need to vote against Hillary. I need to vote against the media.

Yes.

As I’ve written before, there are three reasons to vote for Trump (and really, they’re the only ones).

1) He’s not her

2) Unlike her, he can be impeached and removed, and having him in the White House will (finally) rein in the Executive.

3) It will issue a huge F**K YOU” to the Democrat operatives with bylines.

But read the whole thing. It pretty well sums up my own thoughts.

[Update a while later]

“Only Trump has a chance to bring this country together, and it’s a slim one.”

[Update a while later]

Bob Wright on the media: “Well, my concern is that they are so ham-handed about it — they’re so obvious about it — that it won’t work.”

His concern is my fervent hope.

[Update a couple minutes later]

Democrat corruption is much worse than Trump.

Why yes. Yes it is.

[Update a few minutes later]

Only one presidential candidate has actually “wielded the sledgehammer of government against personal enemies.”

Yup. And hint: It’s not Donald Trump. Not that I’d put it past him, of course. But he can be impeached and removed. She cannot.

[Update a couple minutes later]

Richard Nixon could only wish he’d gotten Hillary’s FBI treatment.

Yes. But he was a Republican. And for impeachment and removal purposes, so will Trump be.

[Early-afternoon update]

The rage of the Hillaryite bullies:

I’ve been trying to figure out what common trait binds Clinton supporters together. As far as I can tell, the most unifying characteristic is a willingness to bully in all its forms.

If you have a Trump sign in your lawn, they will steal it.

If you have a Trump bumper sticker, they will deface your car.

if you speak of Trump at work you could get fired.

On social media, almost every message I get from a Clinton supporter is a bullying type of message. They insult. They try to shame. They label. And obviously they threaten my livelihood.

It’s what they do. It’s who they are.

[Update a few minutes later]

“One way to bully is to call the other person the bully. Chelsea could be said to be part of that activity.”

As I’ve often noted recently, this is an election in which the worst things that both campaigns say about the other are generally true.

  1. Even if Hillary wins, the disgust from the right will still exist, and even grow. But this time, there won’t be the good will from Americans like there was for Obama. Maybe the sex card will work like race baiting did for Obama, but not to the same level.

On the other hand, we now see how much the media have grabbed their cankles for Hillary, so I could be dead wrong.

Maybe dead is the wrong word to use around Hillary.

    1. @ Jon;

Disgust from the right for Hillary is a given, but what I find interesting is the disgust for her from the left (Things like the DNC rigging the primaries against Sanders, the disparaging remarks about the left revealed in Wikileaks, etc, etc.). That, IMHO, promises for interesting times for her if she’s elected.

  2. Rand, did you vote FOR McCain? I didn’t. I was fairly up for Romney until he caved in the 2nd debate to Candy Crowley. Even if he wasn’t prepared for the blindside; he didn’t come back in the 3rd debate. But in 2008 and 2012; I voted against the Democrat. In 2008 specifically I voted against Democrats; because I wasn’t voting for Cornyn either.

  3. “3) It will issue a huge F**K YOU” to the Democrat operatives with bylines.”

3b: The fun of listening to their numerous excuses of why they failed to elect Bill Clinton’s wife.
If you don’t vote for Trump you missing out on a lot of enjoyment.

  4. Derek Hunter complained about no fact-checking on Ms. Clinton’s claims regarding her opposition the the Heller decision and the charges of $6B State Dept. lost funds. Here are PolitiFact links for both:

  5. he can be impeached and removed

Even if you could find 218 House votes to impeach (a big if), and 67 Senate votes for removal (an even bigger if), what makes you think he’d actually leave?

      1. Tell his supporters that the vote was rigged by his corrupt enemies, and refuse to give up his office. Why would he do anything else?

        1. Oh so now you fully understand Trump and his thoughts and can predict his actions…….

There’ s no end to your self-proclaimed omniscience is there?

    1. what makes you think he’d actually leave?

What would you be doing if that happened? Shrug and accept it like you do so many things about Clinton? At some point, we have to realize that the ultimate source of law comes from the people. If they and you don’t protest such a thing, then why should we expect anyone else to?

  6. Let’s be clear. Rand: You are saying that you completely dismiss absolutely everything Trump is telling his crowds. Not one thing from his hundred day speech is true?

    1. No. I’m saying that there’s no way to sift truth from lies with him, and there’s no way for me, or for you (and you delude yourself if you think you can), to predict what he’ll do in the future, and that if he wins, he’ll be a president, not a dictator. It’s not like The Apprentice, where he can just fire people, or eliminate departments.

      1. But that’s not your statement Rand.

there are three reasons to vote for Trump (and really, they’re the only ones)

there’s no way to sift truth from lies

First, that’s true of anybody, about anybody.
Second, it’s just not completely true and you know it. If noway else, we simply wait for the results to prove things one way or the other.

One way to determine veracity is consistency. Trump has been inconsistent in the past (but nowhere near what’s been reported and continually repeated by liars)

Trump has undeniably become more consistent in his message. Of course we can’t predict the future which nobody is denying, but this is a strong indicator that you have chosen to ignore.

You don’t like Trump to the point you will not even consider the possibility that he includes substance. Fine. He has to prove it to you and will after the election.

        1. First, that’s true of anybody, about anybody.

It’s less true of some than others.

He has to prove it to you and will after the election.

Or not. He doesn’t in fact have to prove anything to me. Whether he does or not will have zero effect on anything, with the slight possibility of my support for him for a second term if by some miracle he wins.

  7. If Trump wins, there will be four to eight years of organized violence by Democrats directed against their political opponents.

If Hillary wins, there will be four to eight years of organized persecution by government agencies and organized violence by Democrats directed against their political opponents.

It was the organized violence that sealed the deal for me. Democrats claim to be “for” women, Hispanics, and blacks right up until they encounter one that isn’t a Democrat and then there are no rules that apply to the treatment they get. Beatings, vandalism, arson, SWATing, and midnight raids from paramilitary government agencies are all on the table.

There is coordinated action between the DNC, their politicians, activists, and government agencies. Literal fascism is coming to the USA. Democrats weren’t quite ready to go full Socialist with Sanders so they took the next best step toward fascism. A vote for anyone but Trump is a vote for fascism, corruption, organized violence, systematic racism, and a totalitarian government that will control every single aspect of your life from what car you drive and food you eat to what words you can speak.

    1. I saw that a day or so ago. Pat Condell is right up there with Mark Steyn and Nigel Farage for entertaining, plain-spoken common sense.
