My two cents: 1) As always, they keep using that word “liberal.” I don’t think it means what they think it means. 2) The demonization of Kim Davis (including her appearance) reminded me very much of the way Linda Tripp (the only person who told the truth in the Lewinsky affair) was treated. So this is nothing new.

I’ve often wondered about the number of these smug liberals. Breitbart would post the ratings for The Daily Show and they were never that good.

I think, they consider that it means subjecting self to years of indoctrination in the certifying institutions of higher learning*.
Without such institutional education, one presumably, can’t be liberal.
So, brainwashed = Liberal.
Though obviously this also requires a meek submission to this endlessly parade of dumb.
*So, such places where the students will shriek in an uncontrollable fear of the chalk that shouts, Trump 2016

This bit was a bit confusing for me.
Was is to prove the writer was liberal/lefty?
Is it Republican Party’ is ignoring “climate change” like Dem are ignoring
the working class. If so, how will Republican Party notice climate change. Or obviously the Dems are never going to notice working class, even if working class hangs them on streetlamps.
Does it have anything to with idea, that we are suppose to be already too late to save the world from climate change. Aren’t we all suppose to die from climate change. It seems it would be more like the republican party would decide to go to Mars or something. And stuff about whores must be something deep in lefty crazy land..
But otherwise, I agree there is remarkable level of self awareness for a lefty.
It’s certainly odd that people with such low self-esteem (“I don’t deserve liberty! Rule me, Big Brother, rule me good and hard!”) can at the same time feel so smug. But I’ve had enough experience with the type to know that they do.

Seems like typical hierarchical thinking to me. The levels above get deference and the levels below get scorn. It’s one way to rationalize your place in the hierarchy.
You can go full smug if you think you know it all AND ignore human nature.

Is working more from a historical/political perspective, and from the inside, so I think it misses a key point: progressivism (which is what we’re really talking about here) is particularly prone to this because its animating core axiom is something like “human reason and trivial observation allow us to easily determine how best to reorder society.” It immediately follows that anybody who disagrees with you is either blind or an idiot.

Or via a scientific means one can easily determine how best to reorder society.
Hence Marxism- a pseudo science. Or Lefties. Or France and the Great Terror which followed such inadequate assumptions.
Whereas with America an assumption.by some was it was a great experiment- on going, some can assume.
There were other pseudo sciences, Eugenics- “It is a social philosophy advocating the improvement of human genetic traits through the promotion of higher rates of sexual reproduction for people with desired traits”- wiki.
And pseudo science of racism and Nazism.
Socialism. Communism. Progressivism- all kinds of ism.
The pseudo scientific and religious beliefs of how to save the world.
Some people think the only way to save or reorder the world is to get rid of the human plague which is infesting the natural order.
One has all kinds of crazies available to choose from.
A curious notion is idea that the Science has Ended. One sees this is idea related to concept that the climate science is settled. But real scientists don’t suffer from this belief- or they would do something else.
Linda Tripp (the only person who told the truth in the Lewinsky affair)
Tripp posed as Lewinsky’s friend, while secretly (and illegally) taping their conversations, and passing them along to GOP operatives. That’s an odd way to “tell the truth.”
Which does not, I should add, excuse the attacks on Tripp’s appearance. It was the ugliness of her behavior that merited criticism.
Tripp was Lewinsky’s friend. She was the only friend that Lewinsky had, despite the fact that Lewinsky (at Clinton’s instigation) was physically threatening Tripp’s family to get her to perjure herself. If it hadn’t been for Tripp, Lewinsky wouldn’t have kept the dress, and she would have been trashed by the Clinton gang.
Ask Monica Lewinsky if she considers Tripp a friend. Actual friends don’t tape you and pass your most private secrets to operatives and reporters for political gain. If it hadn’t been for Tripp, the world would never have heard of Lewinsky.

Lewinsky was already scheduled to testify before the tapes came out, and prepared to perjure herself. As Monica’s friend, Tripp would have been called to testify as well; she was already being pressured by the Clinton gang to perjure herself. She would have had a choice of doing so, or telling the truth. Without the tapes, she’d have had no evidence to support her truthful testimony. She was the only person involved in the sordid mess who was truthful, and she saved Monica’s ass with her advice to keep the dress, without which the Clinton gang (including Hillary) was prepared to destroy her reputation.
And your continuing defense of this band of jackals is despicable.
Stupid even for Jim. Even if Monica later disowned Tripp for the taping the conversations , all appearances were that Lewinsky did consider her a friend at the time. I’m not even sure the taping was illegal: my understanding is that if two people are having a conversations, and one party (usually the taper) agrees to the taping, it’s legal.
Certainly if Lois Lerner, Dear Leader or Queen Cacklepants had been the one doing the taping, Baghdad Jim would be slavishly defending it, legality aide.

Forgot to mention Lewinsky’s warning to Tripp: “You don’t know what these people are capable of.”
