The endless debate: Are they domesticated? I think ours is, pretty much, but then, I think females are more than males. They don’t tend to wander as much, in my experience. Rerun doesn’t go more than a house or so away, AFAIK.

Cats can’t be allowed off planet. We can’t have colonies being wiped out because a cat jumped on a keyboard, batted at some flashing buttons, or chewed a cable.
I think it’s pretty clear that cats and humans have a domesticated relationship. The definition of a domesticated species is one that provides one or more of work, food, shelter, clothing, medicine, and protection. It’s clear that humans do provide these things to cats, so therefor, it’s a domesticated relationship. The only question, IMHO, is how long ago it was that cats domesticated humans.
A friend of my sister thinks cats are space aliens who came to Earth to enslave humans.
They won.
The old joke is that cats domesticated humans, because cats hate water but crave seafood. So cats domesticated early humans and taught them to fish. Or something like that.
Cats are domesticated in the same manner as women are domesticated. Exactly the same…
Dogs have owners.
