I’m happy some of the commenters know the truth. They used to test RS-25 engines many times each year at Stennis. It’s an awesome spectacle if you ever get a chance to see one.
Sadly, this is probably the best news NASA could report, and that shows just how sad NASA is these days. But really, the CNET article isn’t nearly as bad as the actual NASA PAO article. Try not to break a rib laughing while reading about the Clark Kent of engines.
