Aerojet-Rocketdyne has tested one for its new engine.
I wonder how much this (I assume, cost-plus contract) is costing compared to what Blue is spending on the BE-4? I predict that this LOX/kerosene engine will never fly.

They can always try to sell it for the SLS. I mean why not? Since they are funneling so much money into that pork barrel at least get something out of it. The SSME + solids are just dumbass.
The article has some bullshit in there though. It claims the Integrated Powerhead Demonstrated was the first full-flow staged combustion engine. But Glushko’s RD-270 engine did full-flow back in the late 1960s. AFAIK the only problem Glushko had left was that he couldn’t solve combustion instability in a large engine. That’s why they went to the multiple smaller chambers design with the RD-170 family. A problem which Von Braun’s team solved during F-1 engine development.
