Sounds like a work-a-oholic. Working that hard, is fine for the first few years of building a start up, if you staff it with engineers in their 20’s. But that is no way to run a long term corporation. After 10 years of doing 15 hour days 6 days a week, your people will start dying of stress induced ailments. I love what he has done for commercial space but when you work that many people that hard they are going to make stupid mistakes, and people will die because of it.
Here’s a website with many more sayings by Musk: Shit Elon Says.
I could be wrong, but I believe that website is the handiwork of occasional Transterrestrial Musings commenter Trent Waddington (also known as QuantumG).
Indeed, and all the quotes have the benefit of actually being said by Elon, with video (or more rarely audio) to prove it.
So, another book that I would not mind reading so much, but set at a ridiculous price. Honestly, setting an ebook price above $10 shows a lack of economic understanding, as both the author and the publisher stand to make more money even if the ebook is priced at half what a paperback would be priced at – and here, they have priced it just $5 less than a hardcover.
This is just another example of the entrenched publishing companies – Big Book? – trying to save their brick and mortar, tree-based business model. See, if the hardcover is only priced $5 more, well then, we’ll go right out and buy that hardcover. Right?
No, not me. There are plenty of interesting books out there and I’ll wait for something I like from a publisher with more sense.
Have to remember that you are talking about an industry that has historically exploited its workers and has contempt for its customers.
