What has happened to feminism?
She thinks Hillary would be a great president because she “knows what it’s like to menstruate, be pregnant, [and] give birth.”
So you’re going to pick your leader on the basis of her biological functions, the fact she’s experienced the same bodily stuff as you? Imagine if a man did that. “I’m voting for Ted Cruz because he knows what it’s like to spunk off. And he knows the pain of being kicked in the balls.” We’d think that was a very sad dude indeed. Why is it any better for a female commentator to wax lyrical about voting on the basis of her biological similarity to a candidate rather than any shared political outlook?
She should be embarrassed, but she has no idea why. If you’re voting with your body parts, you’re definitely doing it wrong
It’s also possible that this person doesn’t actually believe that and is just lying for the rubes they think are out there.
As an aside, suppose that a male politician decides to change his sex precisely so that he/she might understand how women feel. How would women feel about that? Would they be interested in voting for someone willing to make that level of sacrifice or would they just stay away from the freak?
Somehow, I suspect that this sort of sentiment only applies to politicians that you were going to vote for anyway sort of like how Bill Clinton was the first black president.
So if the Democrats were to nominate a man instead of Hillary and the Republicans nominated a woman, how many v-voters would vote for the Republican? I’d bet the answer is none. They’d suddenly find lots of reasons why right-wing women didn’t count. The whole thing sounds to me like a rather desperate rationalization from leftists who don’t want to admit that they will be supporting a terrible candidate out of tribal loyalty, and who literally can’t think of anything else to praise her for.
Let’s not be so harsh. She obviously can’t use her brain, so why not other body parts?
