I actually tend to follow most of these. I eat mostly at home, unless I’m traveling (and even then I’ll cook, if I have a kitchen), and rarely go out. I shop the outer perimeter of the grocery store (meat and produce), and tend to avoid the inner aisles.

When I get sent places I choose the closest Residence Inn and after checkin my first foray is to the local grocery store. Complementary full breakfast and 3-4 nights of light dinners is a win-win. I can do make my own lunches and the remaining dinners on per diem.
