Whenever I hear about records for box office, I always wonder if they really are, in terms of inflation adjustment. Well, here’s the top ten with that adjustment. There are a few surprises, but I’m not at all surprised that Gone With The Wind is number one.

This is proof enough that Hollywood would rather push a political agenda rather than make money.
Unfortunately, the linked piece is only the top ten Oscar “Best Picture” winners. It does mention that “Gone With the Wind” is also the top overall and that “Star Wars” is actually second overall, but didn’t win “Best Picture.” I would like to see the overall top ten.
Yes, it ignores films such as Snow White, which suffered from the Academy’s well-known bias against animation.
Also, box-office totals are less important today, since movies make more money from DVD, BluRay, and digital.
What!? “Joe versus the volcano” didn’t make the list?
