Noah Rothman, on the idiotic outrage over Giuliani’s comments:
The press did not recoil in horror when former Vice President Al Gore screamed that George W. Bush “betrayed” the country. Nor did they feign outrage when Obama accused the 43rd President of the United States of being “unpatriotic” because he increased the debt at a pace that the 44th President of the United States would rapidly eclipse. And why would they? It’s not their place to defend the president’s reputation – he is, after all, merely a temporary civilian custodian of one branch of our republican government. Americans have a rather grand tradition of besmirching the character of our presidents, and it is a healthy and cherished one. By “civility,” the press really means deference and observance of subjectively assessed standards of decorum. That’s not merely bias, its servility.
Yes.
Every man who loves his wife bitches about her to everyone he knows. He goes on teevee and makes speeches about how awful she is.

[Afternoon update]
Obama not only doesn’t love America, he doesn’t even like it.
Let’s start by asking a hypothetical question: If Obama hated America and wanted to hurt the country, what would he be doing differently than he’s been doing for the past 6 years?
Giuliani was absolutely correct, in his first statement.
Gotta love Rudy.
I’m proud to say we went to the same high school! Those Christian Brothers were a good influence!
Obama probably loves America the way most “liberals” love America. (And by “liberals” I mean of course “tax-happy, coercion-addicted, power-tripping State-f*ckers.”) They love America the way some trailer-trash wife-beater on COPS loves his wife. “Honey, I really love you, but goldurn it you make me so angry when you don’t listen to me! THERE! See what you made me do? I didn’t want to smack you in the face, but you didn’t leave me no choice!”
They also love America the way some women think they love some poor shnook they’ve somehow gotten engaged to, even married, when it is clear to everyone else who knows them that the guy is nothing like the kind of guy she ‘s been looking for. She’ll make them both miserable endlessly bitching, browbeating him and in general torturing him because he won’t transform himself into the guy she actually should have married. Hey, Obama–why don’t you “marry” Cuba, Sweden, or whatever other paradise-on-earth you’d rather be wed to, and leave those of us who actually value our liberty the hell alone?
(Jim, you could be his Best Man.)
“Hey, Obama–why don’t you “marry” Cuba, Sweden, or whatever other paradise-on-earth you’d rather be wed to”
He had the opportunity to mold Iraq into his image of a good state and still has it with Afghanistan.
I get the impression he actually likes the way those countries operate though and wish that he could act like that at home.
Obama is a truly transformative President. He has ushered in a new era, a clean break from the past. He is the oath breaker sundering all the old covenants. Nothing that came before the Obama matters, it is all immaterial. This is why we must banish from our minds the years 2000-2009 and close our ears when Obama speaks about extremists like ISIS and the GOP. It is our sacred duty to support the President and punish his enemies foreign and domestic, mostly domestic.
I think we should just learn to accept that he’s just not into us:

Great job by Guiliani. Time for other respected but retired Republicans, who are effectively outside the left media’s gun range in terms of electability, to hit the same type of notes and generate more media outrage. In post modern America, all that’s needed is repeated application of a meme for the public to accept it as truth.
So when the press is done attacking Rudy, perhaps this admiral saying essentially the same thing will get there attention?
