…is taking over flight test from Scaled Composites. Sounds like they already know pretty much what the NTSB report will say. When it comes out, I may do a new edition of the book to incorporate the accident and investigation.

I wonder if Northrop’s lawyers pushed this.
Oh, and a totally misleading statement in the story:
Scaled now has 600 employees at its headquarters at the Mojave Air and Space Port — up from 150 in 2004. The company is now owned by aerospace giant Northrop Grumman, which has given it freedom for creativity.
The firm designed and built the model for what became Northrop’s X47B — the first drone able to take off and land on a Navy carrier.
The ONLY thing that Scaled did on the X-47B was build the mock-up that got taken around to various shows. They were not involved in the design or manufacturing of the actual X-47B vehicle in any way, shape, or form. A very poor choice of words in the story.
