Maybe. What kind of payday did she get for that commercial?
IDK. It would be illegal for NASA to have paid her for it, but I suppose a contractor may have.
Would it? I keep hearing it’s illegal for NASA to advertise, but I’ve never seen anyone cite the relevant section of the US Code.
NASA also claims they aren’t allowed to lobby, yet they have a Legislative Affairs Office. It’s common to see astronauts in NASA flight suits walking around Congressional office buildings, um — “not lobbying.”
To quote a friend who used to work for NASA Leg Affairs: “What did they think they were paying me for?”
Buys the BS from the movie “Interstellar”, too. She goes from talking about exoplanets to then showing SLS/Orion which can, we are told, visit an asteroid, then Mars, then “beyond”, the latter illustrated with a picture of a galaxy. She seems to imply that we only need to get as far as Saturn to find a convenient wormhole to the rest of the universe.
Promo puff piece for the movie. She sat in the chair, read the copy a couple times, and maybe actually saw the final product.
Late 90ies space sim games called and they want their crappy lens flare effects back!!
She was the only Interstellar cast member who told Hollywood Insider that she wouldn’t want to go into space. So, it’s ironically appropriate that NASA chose her to promote Orion.
Ouch
Next up: Archived promo videos by young Jessica Chastain promoting Constellation and VentureStar!
