Of course, we now know that the sugar is pretty bad for us, health wise.

I’ve been on a low carb diet for the last three months, with ~12K steps/day walking as exercise.
I’ve lost 35 pounds, have a BMI of 26, and my BP yesterday morning was 104/64 (“like a teenager”, the doctor said; not bad for 55!) Another 5 pounds or so and I’m at my final target weight.
35lbs in three months is pretty good, nice job.
And now the updated blood numbers came back. HDL up, total cholesterol down by nearly 50%, triglycerides down by a factor of 3. Not bad for a diet where you can have a 16 oz. steak for dinner.
Just went out and bought Nina Teicholz’s book The Big Fat Surprise, to give to some people I know.
Last time I checked, my triglycerides were almost unmeasurable.
I’m not giving out any candy this year. I’ll no longer teach kids to behave like Democrats – demand free stuff and threaten mischief if they don’t get it.
Besides, it’s my wife’s birthday.
I’m not giving out candy either but it is mostly due to the fact that I already ate it all.
Hey, they work for it. They are required to don a costume (uniform), hike up the street to your house (transport themselves to the work site), and say their lines when the door is opened.
“hike up the street to your house (transport themselves to the work site)”
Oh, I guess you haven’t noticed the trend of parents hauling them around in SUVs or on trailers pulled by ATVs. They still have to walk up the driveway to the house but not sure how much walking the kids do these days.
No, to be a Democrat you have to decry the health consequences of candy and then give out slices of pita bread garnished with arugula?
To be a Democrat, you have to take candy from someone else to give out?
