May be about to explode?
The wheels of justice, as they say, grind slowly. As with other Obama administration scandals, Barack’s effort is to run out the clock. It may be that by the time we learn the full extent of the Obama administration’s lawlessness, the administration will be over. But the remaining options are not good: either Austan Goolsbee, a senior adviser to Obama, made up a smear of Koch Industries out of whole cloth, or else Obama’s IRS allowed the White House illegal access to confidential taxpayer data for political purposes. That’s a crime for which at least two people should go to jail.
Not if the media has anything to say about it. They’ll just ignore it.
or else Obama’s IRS allowed the White House illegal access to confidential taxpayer data for political purposes.
Nobody seems to think that Goolsbee’s statement was accurate. How does his stating something that isn’t true show that he had access to confidential information? That’s a bit like saying that Obama’s statement about visiting 57 states proves that he’s illegally created 7 new states.
“Nobody seems to think that Goolsbee’s statement was accurate. ”
Except Democrats, but then again they believe all kinds of crazy things.
It does merit investigation considering other abuses by Obama and the Democrat party not just at the federal level with the IRS but also with corrupt public officials sending SWAT teams to raid homes of the opposition in WI and the recent lawsuit against Perry in Texas. Sadly, it isn’t out of the ordinary for the party that created flag@whitehouse.gov to narc out your neighbors for spreading fishy rumors about Obamacare, to abuse government agencies at all levels of government.
Horns of a dilemma — if the statement was made up, doesn’t slander — statements made with reckless disregard for the truth — come into play?
Nobody seems to think that Goolsbee’s statement was accurate.
The question remains whether Goolsbee, an Obama administration employee with the ability to host press conferences, thought his statement was accurate. And if he did think it was accurate, what was the basis of that?
Basically, we either have a case of slander via lying or access to information that he shouldn’t have access to. There’s no innocent explanation for what happened.
But if it does explode, Obama can always count on his loyal Eloi to rush to his defense here.
He probably just lied. We know how frequently the Obama administration lies. It is unthinkable that they would use the IRS as opposition research for the DNC.

He said that he thought Koch was an S-1 corporation, and it turned out he was mistaken about that (which suggests that he didn’t have any special access to Koch’s IRS filings). There’s nothing illegal about being an S-1 corp instead of a C corp. It doesn’t mean that you don’t pay taxes, just that profits are taxed as individual income rather than as corporate income.
