Finally a bit of important news instead of all this political and aerospace crap! 😉
Inara’s syringe contained what?!
We expect managers to be idiots but these guys really raised the bar. As Star Trek has show, create a good universe and spinoffs are possible. I still haven’t seen the movie the fans made that included the space station torturer guy.
I wonder why Jane need to fire his rifle (what’s her name) wrapped in a space suit? Couldn’t the bullet cartridges propellant have been complete with an oxygen component?
Wheadon admits he screwed the vera in a suit thing up.
Indeed, as I understand it most ordinary guns will work more-or-less fine in vacuum (at least for a few shots).

Heh. My own attempt at a Firefly fanfic also featured Niska. Also a digitized Jubal Early (because his body was unsalvageable when the Alliance finally found him).
Anything we can read online?
I never finished it. The movie was announced in the midst of a writer’s block and I never went back to it.
12 years ago.. Joss Whedon is a card carrying liberal and always has been, get over it.
Firefly sure resonated with libertarians.
Yup.. and for some reason they figured the creator of libertarian fiction must be a libertarian. When he outright denied this, they claimed he was just lying so he could fit in with his mostly liberal contemporaries. This happened about a dozen times before people finally agreed that, ya know, maybe he’s telling the truth and he’s just a good writer.
As S.M. Stirling once attributed to Larry Niven, “There is a technical, literary term for those who mistake the opinions and beliefs of characters in a novel for those of the author. The term is ‘idiot’.”
Gotta be a wet blanket, eh Trent?
His characters had depth, intentional or not. At least it wasn’t the marxist Federation utopia.
