Taking a red eye to West Palm Beach tonight, for a week and a half of misery. I’ll have a laptop, but not sure when I’ll check in again. There’s a possibility we’ll drive up to the Cape for the SpaceX launch on Tuesday, but it’s at a gruesome hour: 1:15 AM.
[Tuesday-morning update]
Blogging will be light this week. We’re prepping a house to get it on the market.
Glad I didn’t attempt to watch the successful launch. It would have been an all nighter, with the delay.
Night Launch
The problem is that it’s an early-morning launch, with a two-and-a-half-hour drive each way, which makes for a very long night, or paying for two motel rooms (one in Boca and one on the Space Coast), with no guarantee that it will go.
Rand,
You just need to come back and stay. Lower taxes, cheaper housing, come on over to my side (the gulf) where the air is fresh and the liberals are scant. Carry a gun with pride and don’t worry about getting bags with your groceries.
Heat, humidity, flat.
You forgot nasty critters, both native and invasive.
“Heat, humidity, flat.”
Those three words express exactly why I couldn’t WAIT to get out of Florida when I lived there. That’s the answer I give to anyone who asks me why I left Glorious Florida.
There’s also, as M Puckett says, the critters – coral snakes, water moccasins scorpions in the pools and the biggest most prolific roaches this side of the Amazon.
I just abhored the place.
“but it’s at a gruesome hour: 1:15 AM.”
Yeah, but that works out to 10:15 PM California time!
Which would be great if I and the launch were in California.
This should warm you on your trip: dn-guy makes the news!

Obama replied, “I love you, too, retarded guy.”
I would prefer that people not talk about the banned troll when he is unable to defend himself here.
Yee-har! Another successful launch! These guys are making it look routine. Routine is good.
