That reads like some pick up artist just crammed every beta herb cliche he could find into a single letter.
I suspect that Heather wrote both sides of that.
I read a lot, but that is just too long. Must be a relative of Woody Allen.
Wow. I was going to read this article, but it felt so personal – did the author of the letter really want me to hear about all those feeling, or was that just to Polly? I don’t want to be the kind of person who doesn’t respect others’ right to privacy and self-actualization.
Then I was going to post a comment here, but I’m not sure that people here really want to hear what I have to say. Well, maybe they would, but I’d want to be sure in advance. So I’d want to ask you all to reply here if you want to read it. Oh, and all those who don’t want to read it, also respond, otherwise I won’t know if there are some who don’t. – But come to think of it, I don’t feel comfortable intruding on your space in this way, so never mind.
You are taking this thing far too seriously.
I’m guessing Mike R. was trying his hand at a bit of satire. His comment reads an awful lot like the letter you linked to.
Looks like I should’ve read the rest of the thread before commenting:-P.
Do you really think so? 🙁 What a bummer; there goes my whole day, maybe my whole life. I don’t want to be the kind of person who is always going on and on about things when everyone else understands that it isn’t a serious topic, and this person just keeps droning on and on and on and on and on and on.
It’s kind of you to tell me, though. Well, I understand that I have no right to call you “kind”: that’s a value judgment, and value judgments are things that people should be making about themselves. I mean if they want to.
I am taking you far too seriously.
🙂

Leland, how did you do that? I got a Comment is too short error.
One way to do it is to put in an empty HTML tag, like this:
