A regurtitated and unironic PAO release at the Huffington Post, UK.
I love all these references to the “most powerful rocket” ever. It’s like the agency is being run by Tim the Tool Man Taylor.

…with similar Tim the Toolman results? What a puff piece.
Hey, don’t diss NASA. I hear the new Binford 6100 booster is killer.
“NASA’s plan is to use the SLS to launch its Deep Space Orion spacecraft which will then use a newly developed upper stage to get it to destinations like the Moon and even Mars.”
I thought the Moon was off the table and that there are no missions planned for Mars? Aren’t we using SLS to visit an asteroid? There is a lot of PR fud out of NASA.
Bollocks, as the Brits are wont to say. SLS is never boosting 143 tons anywhere. The parts needed to build the Block 2 have been cancelled. And the manned flights won’t launch before 2021 or, more likely, slip to 2022 or beyond. That’s assuming the whole wretched thing isn’t cancelled in the meantime, something upon which I would hesitate to bet the rent. The amount of mendacious cheerleading that goes on for the misbegotten SLS is truly remarkable.
