Those strips were awesome. My favorite Calvin and Hobbes strip had Calvin talking to his father (paraphrasing from memory):
Calvin: When I grow up, I want to be a trillionaire.
Dad: (Heh, heh) Well, you’ll have to work pretty hard for that.
Calvin: No I won’t, you will. I just want to inherit it.
There was a time when the comic pages featured such greats as “Calvin and Hobbs”, “Bloom County”, and “The Farside”. It was wonderful while it lasted. Those three cartoonists gave my countless laughs. I thank them all. If Bill Watterson wants his privacy, he’s certainly entitled to it. It’s good to know he’s still got it.
