I think we should try Scandinavian capitalist reforms here. Perhaps one day we’ll share the Scandinavian revelation that socialism breeds failure and dependency and unions are leeches.
I have a similar problem with people who don’t know much about current events.
So, a place called Ukraine has a large mainstream demographic group called Ukrainians, and another, the second largest group, is called Russian. The Russians perceive themselves as a separate race, and language group, and social class, and political group, and are allied in many ways with a neighboring state just across the land-border with Ukraine. So now the unassimilated Russians and the host Ukrainians are having trouble with each other…
So how is this very different from a place called California, with a large, secondary, demographic group called “La Raza”, who perceive themselves to be a separate race, and language group, and social class, and political bloc, which is allied in many ways with a neighboring nation just south of the landborder with California?
Key difference: Mexican food doesn’t start and end with beets, cabbage, and potatoes.

Hell, throw in a copy of ‘Triumph of the Will’ too. Lots of very progressive-sounding speechifying by various Nazis in that. Then there’s that great sequence where members of some Nazi equivalent of the FDR-era Civilian Conservation Corps line up in ranks and go through the manual of arms – with shovels.
Her understanding of unfettered capitalism was taught to this teacher. She’s just stupid (and incurious.) Those that taught her are evil. Do nothing and evil wins… as the past two elections have proven.
