I think reality is coming down on the side of the Democrats this time. There hasn’t been any pressure, public or otherwise, on the IRS to go after these groups so it was likely just people doing their jobs by cracking down on these baggers. Republicans are uniquely abusing the system by getting tax exempt status for activist groups.
These Tea Party groups are so racist they deserve what the IRS is doing to them and there have only been a small number of these groups affected.
