Ungrateful serf!
Yeah, really, and after all they did to him! The nerve!
Just please, don’t demand your new home state adopt the same failed policies that made California the mess it is today. It is possible to be an Ugly American without going overseas.
Don’t Californicate your new home.
That seems very unlikely in his case.
Despite all this, you continue to stay in California, Rand!
Such a noble sacrifice you are making. 🙂
Yes, as long as folks like Rand continue to live in California nothing will change in the state. Its only when all the productive folk, and firms, leave that the state will be driven to reform. But I am sure it will eventually reach a tipping point when even Rand will leave.
In the interim, California is a great place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to have a business there 🙂
There’s a lot of ruin in a place as wealthy and large and historically successful as California. But, when the fall comes, it can be amazingly swift and brutal. Just ask GM.
I’ve watched a lot of big companies die; it usually takes quite a while (often they’ll get bought out by some company looking for a bargain and poison them as well). It’ll be interesting to see how states die. The company I work for is awfully Blue at the top–I’m not sure they’ll allow themselves to see the problem.
That’s poorly written, even for me. The company I work for is headquartered in California–I doubt they’ll admit that there’s a problem with the state until the state’s in the terminal stages of collapse.
Actually like many large corporations your firm may be just a shell with its real assets in Nevada.
