Should you eat lots of them?
Unfortunately, I’m allergic to them. There may be some that I’m not, but it’s not fun to experiment. The only ones I know I can eat are macadamias.
Also, note: eating fat doesn’t make you fat.

Rand,
How can you say eating fat doesn’t make you fat? There’s a consensus among food scientists that say fat causes heart disease.
There is zero evidence for that. Food “scientists” are, by and large, junk scientists.
Just joking, too much tongue in cheek. I’ve been doing the primal diet for just over two years and have lost 12 pounds.
Sorry, sometimes we need a <sarcasm> tag.
I’ve lost 17.3 kg (38.14 pounds) since the start of October.
I call my diet “not eating as much”, but that does include (and avoids) the same things as the Paleo diet as it’s easier to eat more low density foods than less high density foods, like grains. That’s not really a problem for me, because my bowel dislikes the stuff anyway.
In that vein, I avoid nuts because they’re quite dense in kilojoules.
Trent, Nuts are high in essential good fats, high in micronutrients that processed foods tend to lack and also very high in fiber.
So high in fiber, it does not take an insane amount to make you feel full so that helps offset the fact they are calorie dense.
in honor of the battle of the buldge – nuts
From what I’ve read at Dr. Peter Attia’s blog (http://eatingacademy.com), which everybody with an interest in diet and health should really really read regularly, nuts are generally OK although they usually have enough carbs that they can knock you out of ketosis, assuming that you’re trying to get into ketosis in the first place. But he has some fairly technical posts about the ins and outs of ketosis which show that, as in so many things diet, “it depends.”
