Well, President Bush created it and Most of the GOP ran on creating the TSA
as an “Anti-Terror” activity. Along with the DHS, which is a huge bureaucratic nightmare
and threat to liberty.
If the Republicans get out there and campaign to eliminate the TSA and DHS, it might happen,
but it sure won’t as long as guys like Chambliss have their careers riding on it.
Well, President Bush created it and Most of the GOP
One of the many reasons that intelligent people recognize you as a moron is that you imagine that we care what Bush or the Republicans did, and endorse it intrinsically because of that.
The Republicans did not campaign to create the TSA and DHS. These departments were created between election cycles and were done so with the bipartisan support of Democrats. The Republicans alone can’t get rid of either. It would take both parties. It is unlikely that Democrats would get rid of so many unionized public sector workers and Republicans would need to see their security concerns met by an alternative.
Passed on a bipartisan vote, with almost every prominent Democrat supporting, and continued for six years by a majority-Democrat assembly and a Democrat President. Unionized- which Republicans opposed- by Obama and the Democrats. Vastly expanded in power and scope under Democrat oversight.
But go on with how it’s all Bush’s fault, and the Bush-style Kung-fu is just too strong for lil’ Barry Obama to fight. I love to hear you announce how full of fail he is.
Bilwick still had DN’s number. There’s a reason pork busters began under Bush and the TEA party started right afterwards. Republicans began spending money just like Democrats. Today, it’s hard to tell the difference in action between Harry Reid and John McCain.
So please DN, keep reminding us how about your pals in DC, regardless of party affiliation. That you think largess was done under a specific party’s name means we have to like it just shows how naive you are.
On to Woduns comments, you have Democrats wanting to expand TSA to bus terminal and train stations. Yes, this would make a great opportunity for Republicans to identify the problem and do away with the TSA, but it will take bipartisan will, that does not exist today, to do it.
That is why people like Glenn write the editorials they do and they get read by many people. It’s is also why federal government approval is across the board below 50%. The idiots in DC don’t get that the rest of the nation is tired of the BS.
Here’s a thought. Lets’ use the market.
Leave it up to the individual airlines. They have a vested interest in their aircraft not being hijacked/blown up/used as missiles.
Leave it up to the individual consumer. They have a vested interest in the above things not happening to them.
Between those two things, airline security shouldn’t be a problem. No one will be forced to fly in an aircraft/with a carrier they aren’t comfortable with. Carriers shouldn’t be forced to allow onboard anyone they aren’t comfortable with. Both airlines and consumers will do what they feel they need to do. End result – security by default.
For those that want security theater, they will be able to vote with their feet/wallets. Some airline somewhere will give them a show of security that should be at least as ineffective/offensive as TSA…
I am okay with this, but, will you make the Executives of the airlines “Personally” responsible
for damages caused by a hijacking or terrorism?
Hur dur, of course not.
Do you hold executives of car companies liable in cases of vehicular homicide or manslaughter? Cigarette companies for occasions of lung cancer attributed to smoking?
Knife company CEOs for stabbings?
Paper company CEOs for your paper-cut boo-boos?
Al Gore for receiving heaps of well deserved written abuse over the internet?
I’m morbidly curious why the thought of holding the CEOs responsible for the actions of non-affiliated individuals even manifested in your brain. Care to explain?
will you make the Executives of the airlines “Personally” responsible , for damages
Have you held Obama personally responsible for Benghazi?
They could always redefine the TSA as a new ObamaCare Exchange approved healthcare provider if the airport security thing falls through.
They’ve got a lot of people trained and providing free (if sloppy) physical exams and rudimentary screening imaging for years now, and there are other related organizations in DHS that are familiar with administering colonoscopies.
We can call it the Iron Pyrite tier (as opposed to silver, bronze, etc.)
