I don’t really have much to say about him, other than what I wrote about space policy, except that I think he is the most overrated president in American history. Not the worst, but definitely the most overrated. Actually, though, I’ll have to confess that he only regained that status in the past few weeks or so, because prior to that, for the past five years, Obama had the crown.

I don’t think JFK comes close to FDR for being overrated. Whereas JFK is said to have had great potential, too many people think FDR actually delivered economic salvation, as opposed to all but causing the Great Depression with his idiotic policies that no one in either party would ever repeat again – because they were staggering, miserable failures that made everything much worse.
Don’t forget FDR handing all sorts of concessions to that “great man” Stalin, who he was sure was a man of his words and worth emulating; and his flagrant wastage of Allied lives and money to support corrupt no-hoper Chiang Kai-Shek.
And let’s not even discuss the number of Communist agents and fellow-travelers his administration harbored…
I have to agree with George on this point. FDR certainly made the Great Depression worse with his mad cap New Deal. JFK at least had Apollo and he was good on tax cuts and fighting the Reds.
