He knew what an Obama second term would look like.

We all knew. Who’s listening? At least the ObamaCare trainwreck is impossible to miss.
Obama’s misunderstanding of Russia and other countries and cultures should be a case study for all future State Departments.
You didn’t have to be Carnac the Magnificent to be able to see that Obama’s second term wouldn’t be any better than his first. He sucked then and he sucks now. The only difference is that his suckitude is a lot more obvious now.
Not surprising that he knows more about Russia. He conducts business there. Or did.
The correct defense moves are being made by refocusing naval assets in the Asia Pacific area. The rest is more or less inconsequential. Russia remains a regional power armed with nuclear weapons. From my point of view Edward Snowden deserves political asylum. The other countries he was at did it not grant asylum just because they are spineless against the current hegemenon. Russia is a basketcase and is not a democracy. But that is basically business as usual in there.
IMO the color revolution campaign was a big foreign policy mistake made by the West and will eventually be proven so. While the Muslims had some semblance of modernity they could aspire towards, even if it was a dictatorship, they had a way forward there. Now they can only look forward to the monarchies and most of them are pretty much failed. So the alternative is the global caliphate. There is Turkey but the way things have been proceeding in Turkey they will eventually leave the western sphere and rupture from both NATO and attempting to accede to the EU. With the Euro in dire straits and the USA refocused on the Asia Pacific they will find little solace in either. I was one of the people in favor of Turkey joining the EU sooner rather than later. IMO they should have joined a decade ago. But there were many fears, some founded, that their political regime, security situation was unstable. The EU is not ready for a war inside or near its borders as the Yugoslavian conflict clearly did show. Still Turkey could probably have a leader different than Erdogan right now had the EU been more accepting of their proposal for entry.
The HealthCare.gov website is a blunder but that is unfortunately quite common with such large scale projects. Two in every three IT projects fail utterly. Having that website fail for me seems to be of little consequence. The JSF software boondogle is much worse in its effects especially considering the Chinese have made great strides in their aviation sector recently.
While we are discussing this the Zumwalt and the Gerald Ford carrier have been put to water at the same time work started on the Ohio submarine replacement.
Frankly I am more concerned about other things. The further encroachment of civil liberties is one. The debt culture is another. The utter lack of industrial strategy yet another.
I have run a lot of worst case scenarios in my mind for some time now and the idea of a conflict near the Chinese borders or surrounding Israel keeps showing up. Syria is not a major factor in any of my scenarios. However these conflicts, if they ever happen, will take at least a decade to shape up.
The President was on TV today, and he seriously looked like he could use some Dulcolax. Is the President being properly attended by his doctor?
Shit’s so fucked, even Obama can’t get Obamacare…
Not hard for Romney to guess what an Obama second term would look like. All the people who can see straight did. We accurately predicted that:
The Middle East would continue to go up in flames
That the statement to Medvedev that after the election he’d have more flexibility didn’t bode well and we said so…
We accurately predicted that Obamacare’s goal was to push everyone into the exchanges, destroy the Health Insurance system of the US and would make a ruin of the finest health care system int he world
That Obama’s war on freedom would continue and the chickens would start coming home to roost.
That the Obama war on Business would drag the economy down…and it did…..
We all said these things – many times right here in this forum.
And we were right.
Wasn’t hard to predict either…all you had to do was listen to Obama’s words and take them at face value. Words like:
“I prefer a single payer system….”
“Sure you can build a coal fired plant but you will go bankrupt doing it….”
etc.
It’s racist to say I told you so.
You’d have to be as statist-ideology-blinded a Hive kool-aid-drinker as Godzilla not to have seen what “Il Dufe’s” presidency would be like.
More of the same? Hardly surprising.
Still beats electing a self-absorbed elitist corporate raider. The choices the American public had were bad and worse. They merely selected bad. I can’t blame them for that.
If anything I think Obama has policies too close to the George W Bush administration to claim to be able to claim he is a Democrat.
Godzilla prefers former New Party member and liffelong State-humper Obama to Romney? Hardly surprising.
Godzilla takes a lot of different positions on various issues that don’t fall in line with the hive mind and he makes some insightful comments,
“Frankly I am more concerned about other things. The further encroachment of civil liberties is one. The debt culture is another. The utter lack of industrial strategy yet another.”
I would prioritize things a little differently but those are all things America needs to get their act together on. Having a competent President would go a long way. Missteps with Russia, Syria, and Obamacare are just symptoms of our larger problem. My worry is that if the current administration is the cream of the progressive crop, can our colleges even produce the deep thinkers that we need to solve serious problems and deal with cultures different than our own? It is a damning indictment of our elite educational institutions that the Obama administration is considered the best we can produce.
Maybe next election we should select someone who taught themselves how to read or worked their way through a junior college at let Ivies stick to being lobbyists and running hedge funds.
…concerned about other things.
We are being saturated with things to be concerned about. Things that wouldn’t be an issue if a moral compass had any impact. We are all witnessing the lack of ability of government to address human issues. I never thought I’d see bible prophecy so blatant for all too see.
