They are just so young. I used to say they should remember Nixon. Today I’d change that to Reagan. I get a chuckle every time some on air person mentions some ‘history’ (usually in a ‘I didn’t know that’ manner) that us old farts consider basic knowledge.
Under 40 means you are a child in the news business. Under 50 is still in training.
I met a college kid at a wedding the other weekend who wants to teach history. He plans on getting his phd in the early 2000s. Meaning he wants to teach about the Bush years. It is scary people think of that as history and also I can’t help but imagine his professors teaching him about war for oil and squandering budget surpluses among other partisan lies.
