Some discomfiting thoughts on their implications for foreign policy and hapless presidents.
Speaking of cascade effects, there seems to be a preference cascade developing on the lack of both hap and feck with this president. It’s apparently becoming socially acceptable, even at the New York Times, to point out what a disaster he is.
Of course they feel that it’s safe to point out what a disaster he is. They were able to drag his carcass across the finish line in 2012, so they don’t have to support him any more. And still they have a Democrat in office, instead of that incompetent boob Romney….. er, wait a minute….
Plus, by making The Zero look awful, they can make Hillary look good for 2016. Win-win!
Am I being a wee bit cynical? Naaaaah…..
The next big-government nanny-state Democrat in the White House will be a Republican.
Just like the last one before Obama was? Yeah, I can actually see that.
Too true, McGehee, too true.
“I think that we’re going to see a huge preference cascade, and it may already be happening.” — Rand predicting Romney’s election, September 2, 2012
“The Preference Cascade” — Rand predicting a “scary” election for Obama supporters, October 18, 2012
Rand’s preference cascade detector could use some adjustment.
Ya, NPR/PBS and the big 3 are still acting as Obama’s propaganda wing. Doesn’t look like much of a cascade domestically. Internationally? Well, Bush is looking pretty good right now. Obama can’t get any support, not even from the British. First time in about 220 years the UK voted no on war.
And seriously, have you watched the “news” on PBS lately? It is more biased than MSNBC or Fox, pretty disgusting to watch.
Bush is looking pretty good right now. Obama can’t get any support, not even from the British. First time in about 220 years the UK voted no on war.
Cameron has Bush and Blair to thank for that.
Cameron has Obama to blame for that. Nobody in Britain trusts him, because he keeps insulting them and stabbing them in the back. He even handed the Soviets the serial numbers of all nuclear warheads on British submarines, when the British wouldn’t let anyone even know how many they had. Obama also burned some critical British intelligence operations. On other fronts, he insulted their Queen with an iPod of his droning speeches, which is about like getting a polished turd from a Sultan or a box of tennis balls from the French King.
And Bush has Carter to blame for losing the Shah and kicking off the Iran/Iraq War. Carter has Johnson to blame for Israel’s 1967 War, and Johnson has to blame for Israel in the first place. Truman has Wilson to blame for carving up the Middle East.
Far past time for Obama, now in his second term, to be held responsible for his own actions and for his supporters to stop blaming everything else for the consequences of his policy decisions.
Jim,
The Zero’s re-election was not so much a case of the American people wanting him back in office (see his dismal performance in the popular vote) as it was a case of the people not liking the dog-food served up by the Republicans. Romney would have made a good President, but he’s a lame campaigner.
And no, I’m not a Republican. I’m a life member of the Libertarian Party of the United States. A pox on the houses of both the Democrats and the Republicans.
Simple question, where did Syria get the WMDs?
