And in other Iranian/US news today, CIA admits role in 1953 coup.
The new Iranian President is more moderate, even appointing a UK educated woman as VP. I guess the Obama Administration felt that the anti-American radicals were losing the upper hand and decided to take action to both somehow further damage the US reputation in the region and try to swing the pendulum back to the fundamentalists.
If the leak comes from an unauthorized whistleblower though it is beneficial to US interests and democracy, they’ll hunt them to the ends of the Earth. If the leak furthers the current administration’s agenda, they’ll turn a blind eye even if the leak harmed US interests in the process. It’ll be hard to find a more naked and blatant illustration of federal government hypocrisy than this.
