It’s interesting how little the field of science fiction has advanced in Hollywood. They can do dystopian films ok, but it is remarkable how little any remotely realistic depiction of space flight has progressed since 1950.
Watched the movie every time I could as a kid. Even watched it about 6 months ago.

Would you say that 2001 is at least remotely realistic? They made a few error yes, but it looked better.
Also Apollo 13 wasn’t too bad.
Destination Moon was also produced as a radio play at around that same time. It’s worth listening to if you’re an old-time radio fan.
