Other than lies and political BS, I thought propaganda was the second biggest industry in the world now. Most people under 40, wouldn’t recognize the truth if it waddled up and bit them on the ankle.
Of course that means they don’t understand the propaganda nibbling them to death either.
Even tinpot dictators have the sense to claim 90% or so approval, just to give a patina of plausibility to their rigged elections. You couldn’t get 97% of respondents to agree on the color of the sky. It is nothing short of in-your-face brazenness daring you to dissent when a figure like that is published.
