Because of my pending libel lawsuit, I won’t comment on this, but you can.

Lysenkoism has struck again.
I’ve derived far too much pleasure from having Trofim Lysenko executed in the Great Terror in the world of my alternate history writings (“Once a Chekist,” etc).
Once again illustrating what a dick Mann is. Best wishes and success in your legal pursuits.
You have to give the Mann a break; You have to have a good sense of timing to steal other peoples work. It’s like reverse engineering over a Chinese wall. Plagiarism really isn’t if you get your friends to help. His friends aren’t accomplices in their academic crime, just, ya know, friends.
This idea that science isn’t really all about egos is just naive. How do you expect them to steal tax payers money if they don’t cook the books. I mean seriously. You just don’t understand how science is really meant to work. It’s not about truth, you silly gooses, it’s about money.
Which is why telling the truth is the highest crime. My uncle the editor and mommy the judge told me so.
This is the most charitable thing I can say about Mann and his handlers-
Leo Tolstoi: “I know that most men, including those at ease with problems of the greatest complexity, can seldom accept even the simplest and most obvious truth if it be such as would oblige them to admit the falsity of conclusions which they delighted in explaining to colleagues, which they have proudly taught to others, and which they have woven, thread by thread, into the fabric of their lives.”
Mathematical sleight of hand to manipulate the end point of a smoothed time series falls apart if time keeps right on rolling and nature gets to fill in subsequent data points. The trick gets exposed through the simple and inevitable accumulation of more data. Of course the plan is that by then he’d be director of the Ministry of Temperature and would try to hide the facts from the public, possibly by confiscating everyone’s old thermometers and re-issuing them new ones on a year-by-year basis.
That would be more sane that what did happen.
“Hey, all of these tree studies no longer agree with the thermometers. Therefore, we’re going to hide their decline by simply dropping them. These exact same trees -do- work for 60 years or so, so we’re going to continue assuming that they work for the previous 2000. Um, yeah – even though we don’t believe them past 1960. Yes really. Handlers, please escort this man from the room.”
“The curious task of economics is to demonstrate to men how little they really know about what they imagine they can design.” –Hayek
Substitute “mathematics” for “economics” and the quote is applicable.
I’m not one for schadenfreude, but I must say that I’m honestly enjoying watching the warmists fall. True, they will only fall to the status of communists, warmism merely losing its status as official truth, but it’s good enough and all one could reasonably hope for. Leftists factions will always be higher status than non-Leftist factions, but the kowtowing to their malfeasance will taper-off as their lies get squelched going forward.
