The Economic Illiteracy

…of Fauxcahontas:

Whereas the regulatory points made in the Senate Banking hearings are esoteric and easily abused to create YouTube moments, the $22 minimum wage issue is readily understandable to the public and understood as absurd. What small business or retail outlet could survive if the minimum salary were $45,000 per year, regardless of what the employee did or what experience the employee had?

The country’s in the very best of hands.

  1. Australia seems to have a pretty good economy (good growth, high per-capita income, low unemployment, no recessions in 20 years) with a $16 minimum wage.

    1. Per Capita GDP (PPP)
      Australia: 42,400
      United States: 49,800

Why would we want to adopt economic policies to reduce our standard of living by 15%?

    2. Perhaps we can turn the center of the US into a desert wasteland and move 99% of the population within 10 miles of the coast. Instead of a big fence between the US and its neighbors, we can build a wide and deep moat to keep illegal immigrants low skill low paid workers out of our country. Your logic is brilliant, Jim!

NOTE JIM, THE ABOVE IS SARCASM. YOU MAY NOT RECOGNIZE IT, BUT IT IS.
