It’s all about 2014:
For perhaps the first time in the history of the United States, it is in the political interest of a president to inflict maximum pain on the American people. Obama could have spent the last 16 months preparing to mitigate sequestration’s impact on the American people, as any responsible manager would have. Instead, he has done the opposite, explicitly ordering government agencies not to prepare for the worst. And he has refused all Republican efforts to pass legislation that would minimize the sequester’s pain.
To repeat what Rush Limbaugh said four years ago, I hope he fails.
He won’t. I think I understand how Democrats felt in the ’80s under Reagan. This guy is made of Teflon; or more accurately he is slippery enough to slough off anything that gets past the media shield. The good news is Biden is no H.W. Bush and there is no way he will get elected in 2016; and the rest of the D’s are underwhelming, old, and angry. Hopefully the RNC doesn’t kill the golden gosling by continuing to disavow Tea Party & socially liberal candidates.
Sequester Pain => Dems take House 2014 => “Now I’m a Dictator”
“Republican efforts to pass legislation that would minimize the sequester’s pain.” were gutless, only got 38 votes in the Senate, and probably unconstitutional. Which is one of the reasons they only got 38 votes.
